“Allianz Bulgaria” is far ahead in paid claims – the company covered the damage to over 41 million levs.
General insurance gave an account 395 170 430 lev gross premium at the end of the first quarter of this year. By tradition, most revenue is reported in the auto insurance and this quarter was no exception – companies recorded 280 640 434 levs. Of these compulsory automobile insurance “liability” gross premium is 165 341 051 lev, and voluntary automobile insurance sold products 115 299 383 lev.
For comparison, during the same period last year, the first quarter of 2014, life insurance companies sold insurance policies for 360 755 811 levs, premiums in auto insurance amounted to 155 414 643 levs (102 393 542 – in auto insurance and 153 021 101 lev in liability).
The leader in gross premium for the first quarter this year is Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group (60337459 lev). Second place takes Armeec with 49,924,833 levs recorded revenue. Third and fourth ranks take Lev Ins and Euroins with premium income of 40,511,817 Levs and 40,210,355 levs respectively. Fifth are DZI with gross premium amounted to 37,948,818 levs; Allianz Bulgaria and Bul Ins are in sixth and seventh place, respectively with premiums of 31,906,527 levs and 30,328,148 levs
Generally speaking the first seven of the 30 companies hold about 74 percent of the market in general insurance.
Benefits paid in life insurance at the end of the first quarter of this year amounted to 226 532 325 lev. Auto insurance companies have covered damages totaling 173 090 771 levs. Of these 78,495,842 levs are Liability insurance and 94,594,929 levs are automobile insurance. The data for this year show an increase of paid damages – in the first quarter of last year the sector has paid benefits totaling 164 782 038 lev. Of these Liability paid 80,519,605 Levs, and automobile insurance – 60,141,845 Levs.
Leader in paid claims during the first quarter of this year Allianz Bulgaria with over 41 million lev. The company is ahead of three companies that move within paid 29 million levs – Armeec and Lev Ins. Just over 18 million paid by DZI; 17.8 million – by Euroins and 12.8 million – of Bul Ins.
